Membership Policy

Sprawt is dedicated to providing its members with high quality cannabis pursuant to Chapter 628 of the Laws of Malta (https://legislation.mt/eli/cap/628/20211218/eng) and Legal Notice 56 of 2023 (https://legislation.mt/eli/ln/2023/56/eng) with the primary scope of harm reduction.

This agreement contains member requirements and guidelines to ensure compliance with Legal Notice 56 of 2023 (https://legislation.mt/eli/ln/2023/56/eng) and acceptance to the standards laid out by the Authority for Responsible Use of Cannabis (ARUC) to protect the safety, health and wellbeing of members and to create a vibrant community-based organisation where members may network and educate themselves.

Membership Rights

• I understand that I have a right to access my information and ask Sprawt how my information is being used at any time.
• I understand that I have a right to access documents related to the organisation and composition of Sprawt by submitting a written request to the General Secretary.
• I understand that I am entitled to participate at each general meeting and contest elections, in which I shall be entitled to 1 vote. Information on the day, time, place and agenda of all general meetings shall be provided at least 15 working days before the meeting.
• I understand that I am able and actually encouraged to provide feedback and advice to the Sprawt team on how my membership experience can be improved.
• I understand that Sprawt reserves the right to terminate my membership if I do not visit any dispensary for more than 4 weeks.
• I understand that I have the freedom and right to ask any information about cannabis, the cannabinoid profile of the cannabis Sprawt cultivates and information on my past consumption.
• I understand that I will be treated fairly and equally by the association and its employees.
• I understand that I have the right to resign from Sprawt by giving written notice but no membership fee refunds will be provided.
• I understand that the Sprawt dispensary will be operational during the following hours:
  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 3pm-8pm
  • Wednesday: 9am-12pm
  • Saturday: 9am-2pm
• I understand that Sprawt CHRA will inform members promptly when a shortage of stock is anticipated before the next harvest. Updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
• I understand that during shortages, remaining stock will be allocated based on members’ historical purchase patterns and expressed needs. Sprawt will prioritise fairness and transparency in distribution decisions.
• I understand that following a shortage announcement, Sprawt reserves the right to review and potentially deny requests for unusually large purchases unless adequately justified by the member. This is to ensure fairness and adequate supply distribution.  
• Membership with Sprawt costs €4.20 per month. No membership fees will be charged during stockout periods. Members may opt to pay their regular membership fee to reserve their membership status during these times.

Code of Conduct

I hereby seek membership with Sprawt and understand that in order to be a member of Sprawt, I must declare and agree that:

• I am a resident in Malta
• I am 18 years of age or older. I consent to showing proof of my identity whenever I visit the dispensary to make a purchase or collect an order.
• I agree that Sprawt will be the sole and exclusive cannabis harm reduction association of which I am member and that Sprawt is the sole and exclusive source of my cannabis.
• I will not redistribute the products to others and I cannot collect any products on another persons’ behalf.
• I agree that I will not use cannabis by combustion at the dispensary premises or in the surrounding areas.
• I agree to be respectful of the area adjoining the dispensary and not deposit litter, trash or debris. I agree to refrain from disruptive, noisy, inappropriate, violent or rude behaviour in the dispensary and the surrounding areas..
• I will not consume any of the products I purchase in public.
• I will not take cannabis procured from Sprawt or the packaging in which the cannabis will be delivered and distribute it out of Malta.
• I understand that the cannabis purchased is for recreational use and should not be considered as a substitute for prescribed medical treatment.
• I acknowledge my responsibility to keep all proprietary or sensitive information about the association, its members, and its activities confidential. I understand that sharing photos or any related content on social media is strictly prohibited.
• I acknowledge that it’s my responsibility to consume cannabis safely and responsibly, adhering to all safety guidelines set by the association. Sprawt has the right to refuse to fulfil their order if there is risk of harm, such as if a member intends to drive under the influence, a member has a history of asthma, or a female member is pregnant. I understand that Sprawt is not liable for any issues arising from misuse or abuse of cannabis on my part.
• I understand that Sprawt reserves the right to revoke membership at any time for any reason, including, but not limited to, non-compliance with any and all the conditions of membership set forth in this agreement.
• I understand that the personal details I provide to Sprawt will be kept confidential under the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) which has been implemented into Maltese law by virtue of the Data Protection Act (Chapter 586 of the Laws of Malta). The data will solely be used for the purposes of verifying my identity and enhancing my membership experience. I understand that the anonymised information can be subject to audits by ARUC for the purposes of verifying that Sprawt is compliant with Legal Notice 56 of 2023 (https://legislation.mt/eli/ln/2023/56/eng).
